Frequently asked questions

Here you'll find important details to consider before booking an event, signing up for a membership, or attending your first event with 18 Events. We want your journey with us to be smooth and enjoyable from the very beginning.

Are there limits on single males?

Yes, we always limit single males to a small percentage of the total event. Usually around 10 males.

Do I need to bring ID?

Yes, this is mandatory for our venues and no exception will be made.

Do you have any event rules?

All of our events have event-specific rules, and posters will be displayed around the venue with those rules. If you have any issues, 18EVENTS staff are ALWAYS at our events and can be identified by purple armbands on their arms.

Here is our rules that are not event specific;

  • Consent! Consent is paramount, breaches of this will result in immediate removal and potential ban from future events ran by us. It may also lead to a ban from the venue, at their own discretion.
  • Phones. All of our venues have rules about the use of phones, some provide opaque covers to keep your phone in, some simply require phones to remain in your pocket or bag at all times, some require phones to remain in provided lockers. These rules will be strictly enforced by our team.
  • Drugs. We operate a zero-tolerance approach to the use or supplying of drugs at our events. If caught you WILL be removed from the event, and potentially reported to the police.
  • Solo Masturbation. This is not permitted at our events, it makes people uncomfortable. What you do in a private locked room with the consent of those in there, is your business. But there is to be no solo masturbation in public areas.

Do I have to play? Or will I be pressured to play?

Absolutely not. Your comfort and enjoyment are our top priorities at 18 Events. There is never any pressure to participate in any activity you're not comfortable with, especially concerning intimate interactions. Our events are designed to be social and welcoming, offering various ways to connect with others, whether through conversation, dancing, or simply enjoying the ambiance. We foster a respectful environment where consent and personal boundaries are paramount. You are always in control of your experience. Should you experience any issues, 18EVENTS staff are ALWAYS at our events and can be identified by purple armbands on their arms.

Can I go to a event I don't meet the criteria for?

No, if the event is for under 40s, then that is not negotiable. Swing: Both Ways is for bisexual singles, and couples with at least one bisexual party.

How do I become a member?

This is a option we are looking to add in the coming months! Keep your eyes peeled!

Is there a dress code?

The dress code for our events varies depending on the theme and venue. We recommend checking the specific event details on our 'Upcoming Events' page or in your booking confirmation. Generally, we encourage smart-casual attire, but some events may have specific costume requirements or themes.
